Hypsometer made Yoder Instruments in East Palestine, Ohio. The object sits in a cardboard box with a thin cardboard insert. The box contains three book; ,"The Hypsometer for Action Mathematics", "Manipulating mathematics laboratory and surveying equipment" and "Field work in Mathematics-Manual-How to use the graphic hypsometer". The box also contains a small metal pendulum and a metal bolt with a washer and wingnut attached. The hypsometer has a sloped grid on it with a metal circle in the top center of the board. A small graphic depicting the proper use of the hypsometer in the upper left corner of the board.
