2021-22-250 (Card)

Homemade card. The cover reads, "To Miss Holland" at the top and "From Danny" at the bottom. In the middle is a drawing of a man and a woman with short hair and a pink skirt. They're holding hands, have pink hearts on their foreheads, a pink heart is between them, and there's a string (tongue?) connecting their mouths. Inside is a letter that reads, "Dear Theacher, I'll be thinking about you out on the farm with your husband. I hope you will have a nice husband. He might be somebody I know. I'll missed you. I hope you will have fun on the farm. If I have good grades I will git to go to my cousin. He lives in Dysart. His name is Richard. We have fun together. I hope we can see each other sometime. Love Danny." The message continues on the back with "P.S. You were a very good theacher you are the best teacher I had so far You might be the best theacher I ever will have." All text is in pencil. The card is made from a white sheet of paper folded into fourths. It is part of a larger collection in an envelope labeled "May 1961, Third Grade students, Vinton Iowa", which contains several pieces of art from students wishing Miss Holland luck on marriage but they're sad she was moving away.
