Silver dux medal from Mauchline School in Mauchline, Scotland. Medal was won by James Love and presented by Marcus Bain, the executive chairman of the Mauchline School Board and the owner of Ballochmyle quarries in Mauchline. Dux medals in Scotland were awarded to the highest-achieving student in the school each year. The medal is oval in shape with decorative embossing around the edges and lettering on both sides . A red and gray ribbon is attached to the top of the medal. An insignia on the medal indicates that it was made by William Aitken, a silversmith in Birmingham, England who was active during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
