Beige banner wider than its length. Says "ITCC" in red fabric letters with black outlines of cord. The letters curve down at the start and end. Below the letters is a green, smiling turtle. There are several light brown stains on the fabric but they are faint. ITCC stands for "Iowa Teachers Conservation Camp." The camp began in 1950 when the University was still called the Iowa State Teachers College. The camp took place in the summers in Guthrie Center, Iowa. The camp was in cooperation with the Iowa State Conservation Commission and the Iowa State Department of Public Instruction. This camp was for class credit and was a field experience for biology teachers-in-training. It is likely this turtle was the camp's mascot.
