"%)" isdeciperable, like an ink stamp. "Colombia" is written in black ink, permanent on green iron-on fabric attached to the inside of the hat.
54	1994.30.19	Boat, miniature	Miniature reed raft with mast in the center of the boat with reed sail hooked on. Sail is connected by a string in the mast. Mast comes out the bottom. Held together by reeds which are intertwined with bundles of reeds forming boat. Color: YL
55	1994.30.20	Shoe, miniature	Sandals. Made from old tires. Rubber pieces across the front to hold the foot in place. There are 2 pieces of rubber in the back to hold the heel in place. 57	1994.30.22	Novelty, mask, bull	Multi-colored horns go straight up from back of head; red and yellow ears stick out beside the horns. Silver snake coiled up sitting between the horns. Large marbles painted black for eyes; nose is flaring. 3 sharp triangular teeth made of mirror fragments stick out of the mouth. Nostrils pink and gold stripes on nose. Color: GR,RD,YL

63	1994.30.28	Flute, cane	One end has a mouthpiece with a hole on top; near the end there are 5 holes in a row about 1/2' apart. Piece gets wider as you go from the mouthpiece to the other end. The end has a hole in it and flares bell-shaped. Color: BR
64	1994.30.29	Figurine, church	Two bell towers, one on each side with silver bell inside. Archway around door is decorated with brown line on cream background. Door is borwn with white lines. Two clocks, one below each bell tower. At the top of the door at each side are a hand-like decoration hoding a candle-like piece. Color: BR,YL,WH,RD
65	1994.30.33	Doll, miniature	Body made of metal with brown string wrapped around arms; yellow and blue string wrapped around feet and legs. Body has a red, yellow and blue shawl over it. Green hair with a brown head. Eyes are black, nose is yellow, mouth is red. Arms folded over shawl. Feet are exposedwire. Color: RD,GR,YL,BR

67	1996.30.5	Hat	Stocking cap with earflaps in various shades of brown, plus cream. Earflaps have bird motif in cream color. Main part of cap has Alpacas in cream, with dark brown stripe both above and below. Dark brown stripe has geometric motif resembling the letter "N". Top of cap and ear flaps have short knitted strings. Exterior edges finished with cream-colored chain stitch. These traditional hats are worn to keep the inhabitants of the Andes Mountains warm and Alpaca wool is a large resource.
68	1996.30.6	Cap	Knitted in dark brown with cream and gray pattern motifs. Ear flaps have two motifs like backward "N". This motif is repeated on two stripes on cap. Between those two stripes is a row of alpacas or alpacas facing right. Edges finished with chain stitch. Tassels on ear flaps. These traditional hats are worn to keep the inhabitants of the Andes Mountains warm and Alpaca wool is a large resource. This hat appears to have been washed in too hot of water which caused the wool to felt and the hat to shrink. There is hand stitching in what appears to be a repair on one of the ear flaps.
69	1997.10.4	Satchel	Formed of strips of handwoven wool fabric, finished on edges, folded in half to form bag with fold at bottom. Side edges lashed together and opening at top. Bag has vertical stripes of various widths and natural shades of brown. Center stripe is 4.5cm wide, of 4 diamonds forming larger diamonds. Three knotted tassels on bottom fold. Heavy braided cord runs continually from one bottom corner 79cm where it has been made thicker and wider for 41cm, then an additional 79cm, the last portion lashed to the other side and ending at the other bottom corner.
70	1997.10.6	Hanging	Printed panel. Human figure in center has checkerboard pattern on body and elaborate headdress that seems to represent feathers. Side panels represent a series of one kind of animal, possibly a lizard, with long tail arched over the back. Border is of rectangles surrounded by a zigzag line with dark brown on inside and gold on outside of orange zigzag. End of border suggests a crocodile's head. Various small animals and geometric motifs in open spaces of design throughout. On bottom, inside border, says "Rey de Moros" on left and "Sylania Prints Lima Peru" on right. Selvedge is stamped "Sanforizado - Mercerizado - Union". Top and bottom edges are torn, and unfinished. Color: CR,BR,OR,GD
71	1997.18.0001	Cap	Stocking cap with tassel at top. bottom six inches are double thickness, with inner layer cream colored and lighter weight. Outside layer flares at bottom. Background color is medium brown with bands of knitted designs. Knitted-in color alternates between cream and dark brown. Crocheted edging with a row or each color applied 5 1/2' from bottom. Top tapers to a point and is finished with a 5" tassel. Color: BR,TN
72	1997.18.2	Blouse	Unbleached cotton gauze blouse with long loose raglan sleeves is gatherd to square neckline. 2" lace at neckline. Lace has bands of ribbon, 1/4" wide, machine stitched 3/4" apart. From neckline colors are green, purple, orange. Stitched across back and over shoulders, then released to hang loose at sides about 7" . Bottom of blouse and sleeves have same colors of ribbon, green at hem edge, machine stitched 2 1/4' - 2 1/2" apart. Side seams are both at selvedge of fabric. No maker's mark or label. Color: TN,GR,PR,OR
73	1997.18.4	Mask	White felt mask has been shaped and stiffened to form face, lined with pink material and attached to hood that fits over head.. Cut outs for eyes and mouth. Trimmed all over. Red felt used for outlining mouth, creating wide attached eyebrows and heart shaped cheek patches. Sequins applied all over. Fringed gold braid for eyelashes. Ears of white felt are stitched on at sides. Front of ears covered with brocade, outlined in yellow and gold tear drop shapes applied. Three shapes stitched at top of face give overall effect of a jester's hat. Right side of face has yellow, center fuchsia, and left side blue background. Each has a gold foil border and center shape, with silver sequins between the area of gold. Center shape is topped with a 1" gold sequin; sides have a small bell dangling from a sequence of 4 beads, alternating pink and yellow. Mask is lined in pink fabric, shaped to conform to mask. Mask is attached to a rectangular fabric cap, 13 1/2' tall x 11 3/4" wide. Front is light blue; back is fuchsia. Color: WH,ML
74	1997.4.0023	Hat	Palm fronds braided from center of crown to brim. One-inch hole in center of crown. Some strands have a loose end extending beyond the crown; others are looped back and incorporated into the braid. Small purple ribbon attached to underside of hat brim. String attached to inside of lower crown. Printed on inside is "LEAVES COCONUT PALM HAWA. ALL--- (Additional word not decipherable.) Color: TN
75	1997.4.0024	Hat	Dried fibers from crown to brim, stitched with double row of machine stitching every 1 1/2" all around. 4-strand braid encircles crown. Brim is trimmed with straight fibers 3' long, stitched on to the brim. Has cord attached to inside of crown, to go under chin. Color: BR
76	1997.4.22	Headdress	Crown of feathers attached to loosely woven headband of plant material. Most feathers are neutral tones, with one vivid green one near the right ear. A strip 6 1/2" long across the back, is 2 1/2" wide. Remainder is 6' high over the ears, tapering to 10" at center front. Center front is ornamented with whole bird, beak down. Felt eyes. Color: BK,WH,WH
77	1997.4.28.2	Glove, boxing	Made of three layers, fitted over the hand. Inner layer is simple woven fabric. Center layer is twisted shaped rawhide. Outer layer is stockinette-knitted wool. Used by reaching in hole at top and grasping twisted rawhide strip on inside at bottom. Heavy. Gloves usually contained a small stone and not much padding. Part of a ritual violence among 10 male members of the community.

79	1998.30.1	Cloth, fragment	A triangular fragment of cloth from a Peruvian mummy. Outer edge has medium dark and light brown stripes. Along the edge of the last stripe is a symbol which looks like a "6", and next to this are three rows of squares. The two outer rows are light brown, the center row is dark brown. The design of the squares is similar but the "6" symbol is in the center of the light brown squares. The pattern then repeats. Color: BR,TN
80	2002.6.5	Blanket	Narrow and broad stripes of red, maroon, green and brown. Four very broad stripes are brown and tan on each side and separated by narrow embroidered stripes witrh geometic patterns green, yellow, red, and maroon in color. Along each edge are stripes of different widths and colors. Next are two narrow stripes embroidered with broad stripe between them. All are separated by narrow stripes of green, maroon and red. Other side has same items. Down center are six embroidered stripes, four narrow and two broad. Each broad stripe bordered by a narrow stripe and all are separated by narrow stripes of green, orange, red, maroon. Edges are finished. Color: RD,BR,GR,YL
81	2002.6.7	Belt	Llama wool. Brown with four natural narrow stripes along each edge. Natural stripes form two wider stripes separated by one narrow. Brown fringe 8'' long at each end. Color: BR,TN
82	2002.6.8	Bag	One piece of cloth folded and sewn along two edges. At top a flap folds over and buttons with 3 black buttons. Black color with a row of 22 white dots along top edge and 24 white dots along bottom. In center are 2 rows of gray dots, 23 along top and 25 along bottom. Between the rows of gray dots are five llamas with brown dot bodies and white dots necks and heads. Three black and white balls attached to bottom with black yarn. Handle a woven black yarn. Color: BK,BR,WH
83	2004.25.0023	Basket, gathering	Woven basket with two reed frames bent into a circular shape. Smaller strips of reed woven to make up the outisde and sides of the basket and to connect the two reed frames. Weave is large. Opening of basket has two slender reeds, 6'' apart, that hold the basket open. Wire re-inforces the area where the reed strips are attached to the frame. Color: TN
84	2004.25.1	Belt	Striped and woven. Ends are narrower than the body, and braided. Fourteen bands of stripes: red, purple, pink and green. In center is a wider stripe with an arrow design of green, cream, and orange. From the Quechua culture, known for their skill in pottery and textiles.
85	2004.25.16	Maize	Small, burlap sack reads "Maize" in black across the front. End sewn shut. Inside holds Andean corn. Burlap has larger weave, so corn can be seen inside. Maize is a large food staple in South America.
86	2004.25.2	Belt	Woven, striped. Has wider central stripe of a geometric design, in blue and pink. One end of belt is smaller, and braided. Along with middle striped, has eight narrower stripes, from the edge onward. Hand-dyed. Lake Titicaca, Cuzco. From the Quechua culture, known for their skill in pottery and textiles.
