Birds are flying around and perched on the fence. Edges and corners (especially the binding) are beginning to tear. The back cover is stained and discolored. "Pearl Leone Brown" is written on the first and last page. All pages are well secured and attached to the binding. Book is 146 pages including the index and "Suggestions to the Teacher" sections.

Book is 244 pages including the "Suggestions to Teachers" section.

"Pearl Brown P5 Iowa 1916" is written on the first page; "Pearl Leona Brown" is written in pencil opposite of the title page. There are some drawings, tracings, and doodles throughout the book. There are 168 pages including the index and "Suggestions to Teachers" sections.

A compass is pictured below the title as well as on the back cover. Binding is weak and beginning to tear. The first few pages have been removed, otherwise all other pages are attached. "Mr. Albert Barnhart Iowa Falls, Iowa Nov. 18, 1907" is written on the last page. Color as well as black and white pictures, diagrams, and maps are present throughout the book. It is 331 pages excluding the references and index. A section on Iowa geography is at the end and is 24 pages.
