UNIM1989.5.23 (Slicer)

Wooden paddle with metal blade, used for slicing vegetables. Handle of paddle is slightly rounded with a flat top, head of paddle is rectangular and has raised sides attached via six metal pins and one large bolt with a thumb screw; paddle head appears to be one piece from the front, but two parts are visible from the back, the two pieces are held together by the attached side pieces, the gap allows for vegetable slices to fall through onto a plate or into a container. The blade is metal and attached on one side via two screws, it and the gap below it are set at an angle near the middle of the head of the paddle. "XS/10-" or "AS/10-" has been hand written in graphite pencil on the bottom of the paddle, just below the gap made for the blade. There is some rust on the blade and screws; the sides are separating from the base in a few areas; the top right pin has begun to come out of the wood.

Wooden paddle with metal blade set at an angle mid-point. Raised edges along sides. Thumb screws for added strength. Color: SL, BR
