UNIM1989.5.43 (Scale)

Metal balance scale with ceramic weigh plates. The base is black and made up of one large, center circle attached to two smaller circles on either side; "Property of Iowa State Teachers College; 9723" is written in tan text on one side of the central circle, on the other side is a silver metal screw with a pin through it for easy use. Attached to the base is the silver metal weighing mechanism which includes a ruler with a counterweight, the measures from zero to ten with ten small dashes between each number; directly between the two weigh plates is a needle and a a flat piece of metal with five dash marks used to determine the balance of the two plates. The two ceramic plates are white with the word "CENCO" stamped in the center surrounded by a circle; the plates are resting on metal platforms and attached via four prongs.
