Manton cap lock double barrel shotgun, English made sporting-arm, is equipped with a walnut wood stock, checkered piston-grip, metal side-plates, and double metal browned barrels. It is stamped, "E.B., 12, 33, 1.” It is also characterized by metal hammers and fittings, a metal butt plate, a walnut cleaning rod, a metal trigger guard, and engraved designs throughout. Joseph Manton was known as the “father of the modern shotgun.” The style of Mr. Manton was considered superior over others.
