2021-22-253 (Card)

Homemade trifold pamphlet from a student to their teacher. The front reads, "Congragulation Miss Holland" in red crayon. The first page reads, "So sorry, Boo! Hoo! Your leaving" with a drawing of a person with brown hair, a blue shirt and green skirt crying. It is signed "Nancy." the second page reads, "Good by Miss Holland" framed in yellow. The left-hand column of the third page reads, "We are sorry you are going to leave now" with a pencil drawing of a farm with the lawn divided out into squared labeled with different crops. The other two sections of this page read, "You have been a very nice teacher. We have had a lot of fun. Soon school will be out. I will be sorry to see you go. You will have a lot of fun, I hope." Signed, Jolene Rin. The card is made from a white sheet of paper folded into thirds and all text and pictures were done in crayon. It is part of a larger collection in an envelope labeled "May 1961, Third Grade students, Vinton Iowa", which contains several pieces of art from students wishing Miss Holland luck on marriage but they're sad she was moving away.
