Waffen-SS collar tab from the 29 Waffen Grenadier Division der SS Russische number one (the "1st Russian"). This was a collar tab created but never issued to this division for use. This brigade was formed from existing military divisions and was active briefly during August 1944. These collar tabs were worn with one on each side of the collar. This patch is the one worn on the soldier's right side. The one on the soldier's left side gave that soldier's rank. The patch is black fabric with the insignia in silver thread in the center. The symbol is a Spanish Cross which was used by Nazis.
