Waffen-SS collar tab from the 29th Waffen Grenadier Division der SS Italienische Nr. 1. The patch is black fabric with the Italian fasces symbol in silver thread with one small part being red. The "fasces" symbol shows wooden rods bound together with a blade on the side. The symbol was used in the modern era in Italy and was used as the pioneering symbol of Italy's fascism in the 1930s. This military unit was under the Nazis but was their branch in Italy beginning in 1943 in the Italian Social Republic.
