This is a booklet in the "Plans for Celebrating Special Days and Holidays in the Primary Grades," collection, and could have been used by a rural school teacher to educate their students about Washington's birthday. 
102 2021-1-77 Book "Building Reading Skills Teacher's Guidebook," by Leila Armstrong, Director of Elementary Education, and Rowena Hargrave, Remedial Teacher, was published by the McCormick-Mathers Publishing Co. and copywritten in 1951. This guidebook could be used by teachers to help teach students reading skills including phonics. This booklet has dozens of flashcards and activities paperclipped to the pages, and the front cover has, "Office Copy," handwritten in the top right corner. 
103 2021-1-78 Booklet "Instructional Units in Safety for Elementary Grades and Junior High Schools," sent out by the Department of Public Instruction in the State of Iowa, copywritten in 1940. This book on safety units would have instructed teachers on what they would have needed to teach their students about safety.

105 2021-1-85 Poll This piece of paper came from The Classroom Teacher, Inc, and details the Absences from School Caused By Illnesses by grades 1-8 from September 10, 1934 to May 31, 1935. This poll lists colds and sore throat as the top reason for student absences and Measles as the least common illness that students had. 
106 2021-1-87 Paper This piece of paper entitled, "Loose-Leaf Lessons in Safety Education for Kindergarten, First, Second, and Third Grades," would have accompanied the poster "Wait on Curb until the way is clear Then cross briskly-DO NOT RUN" with three children in the Netherlands on a curb. This was a part of the American Automobile Association's "Safety 'Round the World" series and was given to teachers so that they could instruct their students on safety around vehicles.

The narrator is the one consistent character throughout the play, taking the audience to different countries with different charcters acting as the narrator explains the traditions of other countries. The Austrian characters include, "woman, Joseph Kohr, Franz Gruber, villagers," the English characters consist of "father and son with sled and log, children carring cards, gifts, and casserole dish," the German characters are "children with tree decorations and nativity figures," and the Italian characters are "children around a table with Mary, Joseph, and Jesus." Christmas songs are sang throughout the play as well.
