The thick, green borders have purple flowers and illustrations of school items like globes and books.  Each corner has spot for a seal, but only the top two corners have a raised, golden seal from the Illinois Pupils Reading Circle.  From top to bottom it reads: "Illinois Pupils' Reading Circle. This Certifies that Minnie Jane Jenkins has completed the Course of Reading prescribed by the Board of Director of the Illinois Pupils' Reading Circle and in testimony thereof this Diploma is awarded. It has a thick green border and an illustration in the top right corner for four children. The text is all in black or brown ink; signatures are in black and blue ink.  From top to bottom it reads: "In Recognition of Meritorious Service the Chicago Motor Club presents this honor award to Tommy Treezel for protecting the lives of school children while serving as a member of the School Safety Patrol. Given under our hand this 29th day of May, 1952." Signed (printed) by the president of the Chicago Motor Club, Chas. M. The bottom right has the gold seal of the county superintendent of schools with a small piece of a purple ribbon underneath it.  From top to bottom it reads, "Spelling Diploma. This Certifies that Ayleen Gilbur, a pupil of the Coles County Public Schools is entitled to this Diploma for Three Hundred Perfect Spelling Lessons.
