3	00.70.46	Gun, Musket	Confederate (C.S.A) contact rifle, .54 caliber, stamped “Pulaski T C.S.A.1861". The Pulaski Armory was believed to have been started by brothers Napoleon B. and Joseph H. Zuccarello, James McLean and William N. Webb. This rifle was loosely patterned on the U.S. Model 1841 and consisted of recycled parts including flintlock parts. When altering the rifle from lock to percussion, it had to be fitted with a new hammer that was awkward but functional. The hammer on this specific rifle is broken and thus no longer functional. A union raid in 1861 destroyed many of the estimated 300 rifles produced.
4	1974.23.8	Brick	Brick, made by Israelites while working as slaves for the pharaoh of Egypt before the time of Christ. This brick used to be in the British Museum (London). My paternal grandfather, who put a good many miles behind him, had acquired some extraordinary scarab amulets and took them to the museum to see whether they wanted them for the Egyptology section. They offered to either purchase them, or exchange them for something else. My grandfather chose to take this brick. (Noted by Harry Fields in his donation letter in 1974).
5	1978.44.27	Bowl	Roman, 1st to 4th centuries A.D. Outside top rim (not flared). Clear, transparent glass with greenish cast and irregular bubbles. Rounded from top to base. Base indented in center. Accompanying printed label: "Roman glass. This glass vessel is a genuine specimen of Roman glass. It was excavated from a Syrian archaelogical site and dates from the 1st to 4th centuries A.D." David Depuma, University of Iowa, questions the authenticity of this piece (Oct 2005). Color: CL
6	2010.17.44	Bowl	Wooden bowl with carved lip on outside appearing as a handle. Interior darkened by soot.
7	2019-7-13	Helmet	Mende helmet made of coated, carved wood, rope and dye. Carved design of helmet is a head adorning a headress with a square-shaped ornament. Displayed on contemporary iron stand.
