Sheet of 4 color photos of the Big Grove school (Garner #3) outside Walnut, Iowa. It is preserved as part of the Big Grove Village, though it was possibly moved to this location from near Council Bluffs. The photos, from top left to right, are: Photo #1: the white, wooden schoolhouse with a bell in the bell tower. The school has 3 windows on the side visible to the camera and a simple yellow door with a small window above it. Photo #2: a blue and white striped ceramic crock with a tap and a ceramic cup wired underneath the tap with metal piping running below the desk on which it all sits. Photo #3: A wallpapered wall of the classroom with a hurricane oil lamp hanging on it. Below it is a bench with several metal buckets, one of which is labeled "lard." Photo #4: A corner of the classroom with a chalkboard and desk with a globe, several books, flowers, and an orrery (solar system tool). There's a message on the chalkboard from a visitor that reads "You girls are great! Thank you much - David B." The back simply reads "Big Grove" with an address label for "The Browns." Each photo is approx. 12.5 x 9cm.
