Sheet of 4 color photos of the Big Grove school (Garner #3) outside Walnut, Iowa. It is preserved as part of the Big Grove Village, though it was possibly moved to this location from near Council Bluffs. The photos, from top left to right, are: Photo #1: a close-up photo of the desk in Photo #4 of RSC-PW-2A. It shows the orrery (solar system tool) greater detail, as well as the books and globe behind it. Photo #2: A plain wooden desk with a handheld chalkboard on it. Photo #3: The teacher's desk, positioned in front of a door, chalkboards on either side, and a hanging American Flag.  On the desk is a hurricane oil lamp, bell, apple, and wooden paddle. Photo #4: A wallpapered wall of the classroom with a closet that is holding several dozen books and a rolled-up map or poster. On the wall are two chalkboards with drawings from visitors, a hurricane oil wall lamp, and a clock. In front of the closet is a small, rusted, wood burning stove. The back of the sheet simply reads "Big Grove" with an address label for "The Browns." Each photo is approx. 12.5 x 9cm.
