Sheet of 4 color photos of the Big Grove school (Garner #3) outside Walnut, Iowa. It is preserved as part of the Big Grove Village, though it was possibly moved to this location from near Council Bluffs. The photos, from top left to right, are: Photo #1: A view of several wooden desks, a rusted wood burning stove, and the desk with books, a globe, and orrery (solar system tool) also shown in RSC-PW-2A and 2B. Photo #2: A close view of the teacher's desk (also seen in RSC-PW-2B) complete with hurricane oil lamp, apple, wooden paddle, and bell. In the background is the front chalkboard with many drawings from visitors. The chalkboard seems to wrap all the way around the room. Photo #3: Another closer view of the teacher's desk. On the chalkboard behind it are two chalk holders for drawing music staffs. The back of the sheet simply reads "Big Grove" with an address label for "The Browns." Each photo is approx. 12.5 x 9cm.
