4 quart metal pressure cooker with wooden handles. Base pot has a decorative textured ring around the center of the outside and a wooden handle, which has been stained a reddish color, with a metal ring at the end for hanging, "12.50" and "'45" have been written on the top of the handle in yellow paint; inside the pot is a removable metal grate with six, evenly-spaced sets of three slots radiating out from the center. The lid attaches to the base via a twist interlocking mechanism, a brown rubber gasket fits into the lid in order to seal the connection between the pot and lid; the top of the lid has a decorative decorative ring that matches the base, a rubber safety valve, a knob with an opening in the center which is meant to attach to a pressure gauge (gauge is missing), and a oval-shaped metal label plate reading "NATIONAL Presto COOKER; 4 QT.; NATIONAL PRESSURE COOKER CO., EAU CLAIRE, WIS.; PATENT NO. 2218188"; there is a reddish stained wooden handle with a metal ring at the end for hanging. This object is made up of four parts, the pot (5.7a), the lid (5.7b), the grate (5.7c), and the gasket (5.7d).
