World War II U.S. Navy belt buckle. Made of solid brass. Front has the circular emblem depicting an anchor with a lion standing up on either side of it. Surrounding the emblem is an outline that appears braided. The rest of the front of the buckle is plain brass. Buckle shows wear but mechanisms work. Says "MERIT" on the back, likely the brand name.
