A typed letter was clipped to a middle page from A. G. Horsley, the Superintendent of Schools, Richland County, Sidney, Montana, dated Nov. 6, 1937, and was sent to the County Superintendent of Schools, Adel, Iowa. Horsley inquired about his career in certain Dallas County schools (Lincoln township) and his qualification for a new pension law. He is listed on the attached book's page in row 62. Common Sense Didactics book by Henry Sabin. Henry Sabin was the superintendent of Public Instruction for the state of Iowa from 1888-1892 and 1894-1898. In the preface, Sabin states, "This book is addressed to that large body of teachers who are at work in the common schools of the land." The purpose of the book was to help teachers who had little or no professional training. The book contains over 50 years of experience from Sabin himself.
