4116 2021-22-191 Booklet "Creative Crafts with Crayola Crayons" booklet. Copyright 1956 Binney & Smith Inc., N. Y. 12 pages. All text and art is either red, dark green, or orange. Booklet explains how to best use crayons as well as a few dozen craft ideas. The cover shows a red crayon with an orange speckled line curving around the text. 4117 2021-22-192 Height Chart A series of three, small, handwritten pieces of paper which list heights of children in a class. Each note includes whether students took their shoes off or kept them on. Sheet C is shorter than the rest, measuring at 10.5cm x 7.75cm. The papers are dated April 10, 1946(A), December 7th, 1945(B), September 7th, 1945(C).  The following is a list of names on each sheet: A: Hazel, Duane, Lois, Bert, John, James, Gae, Roger, Daryl, Delbert, Dorothy, Doris. The teacher also listed whether shoes were on or off. B: Daryl, Duane, Lois, Bonnie J., Dorothy, Lynn, Bert, Roger, James, Delbert, John, Ganelle, Doris, (other side) Doris. C: Duane, Doris, Daryl, Bert, Lois, Lynn, John, James, Delbert, Ganelle, Dorothy, Bonnie, Roger, Doris, Miss Holland (shoes on) (she measured 5ft 5.5in). Miss Gladys Holland was teaching at the Grant No. 9 school in Cass County in 1944 & 1945 but had moved to the Pymosa #3 school (also in Cass County) by 1947.

4119 2021-22-194 Instructions "Working with Powder Tempera" instruction guide. 3 sheets stapled together. It explains why powder tempera paint is beneficial for teachers to use in their classrooms. It also lists several directions (with illustrations) for activities students can do using the paint including finger painting and paper mache and explains both the method and benefits of each. Booklet is designed for teachers for their lessons on transportation. Made by School and College Service of the Association of American Railroads. Copyright 1958. 4121 2021-22-196 Poster Titled "Railroads and the Community." Poster explains how railroads connect with the community around them, specifically buyers, consumers, employers, and taxpayers. All text in a left-hand column separated into paragraphs. The center features four illustrations of different aspects of a railroad that help describe the paragraph they're next to. The right column has four black and white, circular photos to go with the illustration next to it. The poster is primarily yellow. The illustrations are multicolored but use pink and the most. The back gives instructions for teachers to use in their lessons on railroads and the community. The top corner has a large, bold "4." 4124 2021-22-199 Poster Titled "Railroads and Industry." The poster describes different types of trains used in the industry, using both colored (primarily pink and brown) illustrations and black and white photos. The left side has a column that lists some materials that are carried by railroads. The right column shows photos of the process. A section at the bottom explains "factories are fed raw materials by trains and the finished products are transported by trains to every part of the country." The back gives instructions for teachers to use in their lessons on railroads and industry. The top corner has a large, bold "3." A paragraph in the top right corner explains that a vast network of American railroads connects the Atlantic and Pacific oceans as well as Canada and Mexico. A paragraph in the lower right corner briefly explains the uses of modern streamlined trains. The back gives instructions for teachers to use in their lessons on travel by rail. The poster features several illustrations and black and white photos that show trains, railway workers, and various other aspects of the industry. Additionally, eleven paragraphs situated amongst the art explain the importance of railroads, how they serve the country, and provide several statistics, many being centered around World War II. Pink was used heavily throughout the design, including both titles. The back gives instructions for teachers to use in their lessons on railroads and National Defense. 4128 2021-22-203 Certificate High School Normal Training Certificate for the State of Iowa, given to Gladys Holland, from Anita High School, on September 1st, 1942. The paper is signed by Superintendent of Public Instruction Jessie M. Parker. The back of the page lists which counties this certificate is valid for, including Cass and Shelby counties. Stapled to the front of the page is a 1/2 sheet of paper, dated January 2, 1941, that reads, "State of Iowa Board of Educational Examiners, Des Moines, Jessie M. Parker, President." It explains that the certificate is valid for 2 years from 9-1-1942. 
4129 2021-22-204 Certificate High School Normal Training Certificate for the State of Iowa, given to Gladys Pauline Holland, from the Anita High School, on August 29th, 1947. The paper is signed by Superintendent of Public Instruction Jessie M. Parker. The back of the page reads, "This certificate is Registered and Made Valid For: Cass County, Sept. 29, 1947. Signed by the County Superintendent, Georgia Byrne." 
4130 2021-22-205 Certificate High School Normal Training Certificate for the State of Iowa, given to Gladys Holland, from the Anita High School, on August 24th, 1944. The paper is signed by Superintendent of Public Instruction Jessie M. Parker. The back of the page shows which county this certificate is valid for: "Cass County, August 26, 1944, signed by the County Superintendent, Georgia Byrne." Stapled to the front of the page is a 1/4 sheet of paper that explains this certificate will expire "3 years from 8-24-1944 and may be renewed upon evidence of six semester hours or nine quarter hours of college credit earned since date of issuance."
4131 2021-22-206 Booklet "Travel Ways of Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow." Booklet pulls apart to form a long poster that shows a timeline of transportation in America through four, full color artworks.
