2955 1978.13.8 Jar Ball Jar Company glass spring-top jar produced to commemorate the USA's Bicentennial celebration. The glass is a clear blue with "Ball Ideal" embossed on one side; on the opposite side is an embossed oval containing an image of a bald eagle and the words "Bicentennial Celebration, 1776-1976". The spring-top mechanism is grey metal and holds a dome-shaped glass lid in place via a notch in the glass. Inside the jar is an unattached red rubber seal and a tan pamphlet titled "A Bicentennial Salute" with brown text providing information on the jar and its production.
