Center section created by the last fold has printed group of pansies attached. Edge of paper outlined on top in purple. Each corner has a small red crayoned heart glued across cut edges of paper. One word is written in pencil on each triangle folded back from the center. Read clockwise the words are "To My Dear Valentine". Back reads "Miss Pauline Heckel". A red thread hanging loop is attached to one side. Miss Pauline Heckel, born in Waterloo, Iowa, was a teacher for rural schools in Bremer County and attended Iowa State Normal School in Cedar Falls. She later married Harry Barck, secretary for the District Board of Education for Eddy #6 school, Cedar Falls Township, Black Hawk County. Inside, the right page says, "To the teacher." The left page reads, "To my darling, darling, that's the word I love. All new fashioned words above, Of love that's fervent it doth tell.
